Aryabhata Ganit Challenge

The Aryabhata Ganit Challenge (AGC), organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), provides a platform for students to showcase their understanding of mathematical concepts through practical application. CBSE-affiliated schools utilize the AGC to highlight their students' mathematical abilities in real-life scenarios. The challenge is designed to enhance crucial skills like problem-solving, logical reasoning, and quantitative aptitude, which are indispensable for success in various academic and professional fields.

AGC provides a chance for students to compete at local and national levels in two different phases: the School Level Competition and the National Level Competition.

2.0Aryabhata Ganit Challenge 2025: Exam Syllabus

The Aryabhata Ganit Challenge (AGC) includes an extensive list of content competencies to assess students' mathematical knowledge and application skills. The curriculum addresses multiple areas needed for all-around mathematical growth. These competencies are:

3.0Eligibility Condition for AGC

To participate in the Aryabhata Ganit Challenge (AGC), students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Level 1 (School Level Competition): Open to all students enrolled in classes VIII-X in CBSE-affiliated schools.
  • Level 2: Reserved for the top three performers from each affiliated school who have completed and registered for the first stage of the competition.

4.0How to Register for the Aryabhata Ganit Challenge (AGC) 2025?

The registration process based on the information provided for the 2025 edition by CBSE:

School Registration: Schools affiliated with the CBSE could register online through a specific link provided by CBSE. Schools conduct the first level competition and select the top three students from each class (VIII-X) to represent the school in the national level competition.

Student Registration: Individual student registration is not possible.

5.0Aryabhata Ganit Challenge (AGC) 2025 Fee Structure

  • First Level: TThere will be no fees for participating at the first level (School Level).  
  • Second Level: Participation in the challenge at the Second Level will cost each school Rs. 900. Only debit, credit, or NEFT cards will be accepted for fees at the time of registration.

By understanding the exam pattern, participants can effectively prepare for and excel in the competition. Here's a breakdown of the AGC 2025 exam pattern:

7.0Aryabhata Ganit Challenge Procedures and Selection Criteria

The Aryabhata Ganit Challenge (AGC) will be conducted in two stages:

First Stage

  • The affiliated schools may apply directly on the official CBSE website.
  • Authorized schools will get an Aryabhata Ganit Challenge question paper and an answer key via the portal.
  • Schools will administer the test on the question paper provided to choose the top three students. If there are more than three students with the same marks at the top, schools can administer an appropriate screening test to choose the top three students.
  • Schools need to register the names of the top 3 students by paying an online fee of Rs. 900/. Schools who are registered for the Aryabhata Ganit Challenge (AGC) can access the payment link only up to the last date.

Second Stage

  • The Board will hold a computer-based test for the top three students registered from each school. 
  • Detailed instructions regarding the conduct of the test will be communicated to schools that have registered class VIII-X students for the challenge.
  • The top 100 students in each CBSE region who pass the second-level computer exam will receive merit certificates.

8.0How to Prepare for the AGC 2025 Exam?

  • Know the syllabus: Familiarize yourself with the topics outlined by CBSE.
  • Practice on a regular basis: Allocate regular time to practicing mathematics problems.
  • Learn concepts: Rather than memorize: emphasise understanding the basic principles.
  • Problem-solving skill: Work towards developing techniques to solve different types of mathematics problems.
  • Mock test practice: Practice under exam-like conditions to enhance time management skills and accuracy.
  • PYP: Previous year sample papers to know the pattern.
  • Time Management: Practice time management to allocate equal time to concepts, practice, and revision.
  • Ask for help when necessary: Don't be afraid to ask teachers or classmates for explanations on tricky topics.
  • Stay informed about exam news: Monitor any updates or modifications to the exam.
  • Stay motivated and positive: Keep a positive attitude to remain focused and dedicated to your studies.

9.0How Schools Can Get Recognized for Promoting the AGC 2025

  • The Board will award appreciation certificates to ten schools in each region that have the most students participating in the first stage.
  • To identify and develop students' mathematical skills and potential, all schools are welcome to encourage their students to take part in the Aryabhaṭa Ganit Challenge. The students' portfolios may also acknowledge participation and performance in this challenge.
