Delhi State Quota in JEE Counselling 2026

The Delhi State Quota in JEE Counselling is the reservation policy followed during JAC Delhi Counselling for admission to B.Tech. and B.Arch. programmes offered by government-funded engineering institutions in Delhi. Admissions are conducted by the Joint Admission Committee (JAC) Delhi based on JEE Main 2026 ranks.

Unlike most states that use a domicile-based State Quota, JAC Delhi follows a Delhi Region (DR) and Outside Delhi Region (ODR) reservation policy. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination (Class 12 or equivalent) from a recognized school located in the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi are considered under the Delhi Region Quota, while all other candidates compete under the Outside Delhi Region Quota.

Since 85% of seats are reserved for Delhi Region candidates, eligible students generally have a better chance of securing admission to top engineering colleges such as DTU and NSUT compared to candidates applying under the Outside Delhi Region quota.

1.0What is Delhi State Quota in JEE Counselling?

The Delhi State Quota in JEE Counselling 2026 is implemented through the Joint Admission Committee (JAC) Delhi for admission to B.Tech. and B.Arch. programmes offered by Delhi Government-funded engineering institutions. Admissions are based on JEE Main 2026 ranks and follow the Delhi Region (DR) and Outside Delhi Region (ODR) reservation policy instead of a traditional domicile-based quota.

Under this policy, 85% of seats are reserved for Delhi Region candidates, while 15% are available for candidates from other states, making it one of the most beneficial state quota systems for students who completed Class 12 from Delhi schools.
