Sikkim NEET Counselling 2025

If you are dreaming of a medical career in the Eastern Himalayas, understanding the Sikkim NEET Counselling 2025 process is your first significant step. Sikkim has a different method of entering MBBS compared to other states, which have several government medical colleges. Sikkim only has one private medical college, the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS). Therefore, the only way to get into MBBS is through SMIMS. If you are from Sikkim, or the rest of India and want to gain admission to SMIMS, this article contains all the information you need to know.

1.0The Unique Nature of Sikkim NEET Counselling

Why Sikkim’s Process Stands Apart

  • Medical College only: The only medical college in the state offering MBBS is SMIMS.
  • Government Quota vs Institutional Quota: State residents can get nominated through the Human Resource Development Department (HRDD), while non-residents apply directly to SMIMS.
  • Mixed Mode: You will need to complete both an offline and online process in your category.

Sikkim is a smaller state, as its medical admission processes are usually less complicated than those in larger states that have varied and complicated government online portals/data entry systems for government and private institutions, each with 100 different seats. In Sikkim, we are more straightforward, limited, and reliant on the intake directly from SMIMS.
