1.0MHT CET 2026 Registration: Latest Updates
The State CET Cell has announced a special registration window specifically for Session 2 of the MHT CET (PCM/PCB) examination. This window is open only on April 23, 2026, until midnight. This extension was granted in response to numerous requests from candidates who had incomplete applications or missed the payment deadline during the regular registration period.
Key Special Instructions for April 23 Registrants:
- Late Fee: A mandatory additional late fee of Rs. 500 applies to all categories.
- No Correction Window: There will be no edit facility for forms filled during this special one-day extension.
- Mandatory Requirements: Candidates must have a valid Aadhaar Card and an APAAR ID created via DigiLocker to complete the process.
2.0MHT CET 2026 Important Dates
The MHT CET 2026 is conducted in two sessions to provide candidates with multiple attempts to improve their scores.
Note: For candidates appearing in both attempts, the best of the two percentile scores (total score only) will be considered for the final merit list.
3.0Eligibility Criteria for MHT CET 2026
Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet the basic and course-specific eligibility requirements set by the State CET Cell.
General Eligibility
- Nationality: Candidates must be Indian Citizens.
- Age Limit: There is no age limit for appearing in MHT CET 2026.
- Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have passed or be appearing for the HSC (Class 12) Science examination or its equivalent.
Academic Requirements
- Minimum Marks: For the General category, a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam is required. For Reserved categories (SC, ST, VJ/DT-NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC, SEBC, EWS) and PwD candidates from Maharashtra, the minimum requirement is 40% marks.
- Subject Groups:
- Engineering (B.E./B.Tech): Must appear for the PCM group (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
- Pharmacy (B.Pharm/Pharm.D): Can appear for either PCM or PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology).
- Agriculture (B.Sc. Honors): Requires either PCM or PCB depending on the specific degree course. For B.Tech Agricultural Engineering, only the PCM group is mandatory.
Candidature Types
- Maharashtra State Candidature: Candidates who are domiciled in Maharashtra or were born in the state.
- Other State Candidature (OMS): Candidates domiciled outside Maharashtra. These candidates are generally considered for All India Quota seats.
- Minority Candidature: Candidates belonging to a notified linguistic or religious minority community within Maharashtra.
- Exempted Categories: Children of NRI, OCI, PIO, and Foreign Nationals are exempted from appearing in MHT CET 2026 but must participate in the counseling process.

The application fee has seen an increase of INR 300 for general candidates and INR 200 for reserved categories this year.
Important Note: The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Payment must be made online via Debit/Credit card, Net Banking, UPI, or Mobile Wallets.
5.0Documents Required for Registration

- Aadhaar Card (Mandatory): Used for authentication during the registration process.
- APAAR ID (Mandatory): Every student must generate their Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID through DigiLocker.
- Standard 10th and 12th Marksheets: For entering accurate academic details.
- Domicile Certificate: To prove Maharashtra State candidature.
- Caste/Category Certificate: If applying under a reserved category.
- Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) Certificate: As applicable for OBC/SBC/SEBC/VJ-NT categories.
- Disability Certificate (UDID): Mandatory for PwD candidates.
- Scanned Images:

6.0How to Apply for MHT CET 2026: Step-by-Step Guide
The registration process is entirely online and should ideally be completed using a laptop or desktop to avoid errors.
Stage 1: Portal Registration
- Visit the official website: cetcell.mahacet.org.
- Navigate to the "CET Portal for A.Y. 2026-27".
- Click on "New User Registration".
- Enter basic details: Name, Email ID, Mobile Number, and Date of Birth.
- Create a strong password (8-16 characters with at least one uppercase, lowercase, special character, and number).
- Verify your email by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
- Aadhaar & APAAR Linking: Authenticate yourself by linking your DigiLocker account to fetch Aadhaar and APAAR ID data.
Stage 2: Filling the Application Form
- Log in using your registered Email ID and Password.
- Fill in personal details: Father's Name, Mother's Name, Gender, Religion, Region, and Mother Tongue.

- Compensatory Time: PwD candidates are entitled to 20 minutes of extra time per hour of the examination. For a 180-minute paper, they receive 60 minutes of extra time.
- Mandatory Forms: PwD candidates must submit a scribe declaration form (Appendix 3) and carry their UDID card to the exam center.
