No. Once the online registration form is confirmed, Panjab University does not allow any additions, deletions, or alterations under any circumstances.

Yes. There is a penalty for wrong answers. For every incorrect response, 0.5 marks (25% of the marks allotted to the question) will be deducted.

You can choose combinations like PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), or Mathematics only, depending on the course you wish to join.

You primarily need your Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, a valid photo identity proof, and digital copies of your passport-size photograph and signature.

The university provides a very short window for candidates who have paid the fee but not completed the form, subject to a late fee of Rs. 500/- on May 06, 2026. After this, no further requests will be entertained.

1.0Overview of PU CET UG 2026

The PU CET (U.G.) is a state-level entrance examination conducted by Panjab University for admission to its various undergraduate courses. For 2026, the test is mandatory for candidates seeking admission to:

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) (Anthropology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematics & Computing, Microbiology, Physics, and Zoology).
  • B. Pharmacy.

Note: Admission to these courses is based on a combined merit consisting of the entrance test score (75% weightage) and the 10+2 qualifying examination marks (25% weightage).

3.0Eligibility Criteria for UG Courses

Before beginning your registration, you must ensure you meet the minimum eligibility requirements. Applications from ineligible candidates will be summarily rejected, and the registration fee is non-refundable.

1. Educational Qualifications

  • Candidates must have passed or appeared in the 10+2 Examination from CBSE, New Delhi, or any other recognized Board/University/Council.
  • A minimum of 50% marks in the 10+2 examination is generally required.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC/PwD categories receive a 5% concession in the eligibility marks.
  • Compartment Candidates: Students having a compartment in their 10+2 examination held in March 2026 are not eligible for admission.

2. Subject Requirements

  • B. Pharmacy: Must have studied English, Physics, and Chemistry, along with one of Biology, Biotechnology, or Mathematics.
  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Botany/Zoology: Must have passed with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics: Must have passed with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

3. Age Limit

  • Candidates must be at least 17 years of age as of December 31 of the admission year.
  • There is no upper age limit for the PU CET UG entrance exam.

4.0Step-by-Step Registration Guide for 2026

The registration process for PU CET UG 2026 is strictly online through the official admission portal: /cetug.puchd.ac.in.

Step 1: Online Registration

  • Visit the official website and click on the "Register" or "Online Registration" link.
  • Enter your basic details, including Full Name, Date of Birth, Active Email ID, and Mobile Number.
  • Once submitted, a unique Login ID and Password will be generated and sent to your registered email address.

Step 2: Fee Payment

  • Log in to your account using the credentials provided.
  • Pay the requisite CET Fee through the online mode (Net Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card).
  • Ensure the payment is completed by the deadline of April 24, 2026.

Step 3: Uploading Documents & Information

  • After successful payment, log back in to complete the form.
  • Upload a scanned passport-size photograph and your specimen signature.
  • Fill in academic details (Class 10 and 12 marks) and select your preferred Exam Centre (Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Muktsar, or Hoshiarpur).

Step 4: Save and Confirm

  • Review all information carefully. No corrections or changes are allowed once the form is submitted.
  • Click "Save and Confirm" to finalize your application.
  • Download and print a copy of the completed application form for future reference.

5.0PU CET UG 2026 Application Fee

The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

6.0Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Understanding the exam structure is essential for effective preparation.

  • Mode of Exam: Offline (OMR Answer Sheet).
  • Medium: English only.
  • Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.
  • Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • Duration: 70 minutes per subject paper.
  • Marking Scheme:
    • +2 marks for every correct answer.
    • -0.5 marks (25%) for every wrong answer.
  • Syllabus: The test covers the CBSE Syllabi for Class 11 (10+1) and Class 12 (10+2) for the 2023-25 session.

7.0Admit Card and Exam Day Instructions

  • Downloading: The admit card will be available online from May 05, 2026. No physical copy will be sent via post.
  • Mandatory Documents: You must bring your Admit Card and a valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Passport, etc.) to the test center.
  • Reporting Time: Candidates are advised to arrive at the venue at least 30 minutes before the exam starts [Outside Sources - General Practice].
  • Prohibited Items: Calculators, mobile phones, and any other telecommunication equipment are strictly banned inside the examination hall.
  • Extra Time: Visually handicapped and PwD candidates receive 20 minutes extra per paper.

8.0Result and Admission Process

After the entrance exam on May 10, the tentative result date is May 28, 2026.

  1. Result Availability: Results will be uploaded on the official university websites: results.puchd.ac.in and cetug.puchd.ac.in.
  2. Qualifying Marks: The cut-off is 15% of the total marks (reduced to 10% for SC/ST/BC/PwD candidates).
  3. Filling Admission Form: Simply qualifying for the entrance test does not guarantee admission. Qualified candidates must fill out a separate online Admission Form for counseling and seat allotment.
  4. Weightage: Merit is calculated as 75% (CET Percentile) + 25% (10+2 Marks) + additional weightage for NCC, NSS, etc., as per university norms.
