2.0WBJEE 2027 Exam Date
WBJEEB will announce the WBJEE exam date by April, 2026, held as an offline, pen-and-paper OMR-based test across designated centres in West Bengal and select cities outside the state (including Assam and Tripura). Both papers — Mathematics and Physics & Chemistry — were conducted on the same day. The board released the exam city/timetable details through the "News & Events" section of the official website ahead of the test.
3.0WBJEE 2027 Application Form and Registration
WBJEE 2027 registration will be opened by March, 2027. The application process was entirely online through wbjeeb.nic.in and involved these steps:
- New registration using a valid email ID and mobile number
- Filling in personal, academic, and category details
- Uploading scanned photograph, signature, and required documents
- Choosing preferred exam zones/cities
- Paying the application fee online
- Reviewing and submitting the form
- Downloading and printing the confirmation page for future reference
Once the application deadline ends, the authorities will provide a limited correction window for candidates to update specific details in their application forms. However, crucial information such as the candidate's name, date of birth, and domicile will remain non-editable after submission.
WBJEE 2027 Application Fee
The application fee is based on category and gender:
- General (Male): ₹500
- General (Female): ₹400
- SC/ST/OBC (Male): ₹400
- SC/ST/OBC (Female): ₹300
Payment was accepted only through online modes — net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI. The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
4.0WBJEE 2027 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy the following conditions to be eligible for WBJEE 2027:
- Nationality: Indian citizen or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
- Age: Minimum 17 years as of December 31, 2027; there is no upper age limit for most courses, except Marine Engineering, which has an upper age limit of 25 years
- Qualifying Exam: Must have passed (or be appearing for) the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent board, in the Science stream
- Compulsory Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English, with individual pass marks in theory and practical (wherever applicable)
- Minimum Marks: Generally 45% aggregate for general category and 40% for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD) in the four compulsory subjects taken together; note that specific participating universities, such as Jadavpur University, may prescribe higher aggregate requirements
- Course-wise subject combination:
- Engineering/Technology: Physics and Mathematics (compulsory), plus one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Computer Application/a technical vocational subject
- Pharmacy: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology (compulsory)
- Domicile: No residential requirement to appear for the exam itself; however, West Bengal domicile-based reservation applies to certain state-quota seats during counselling
5.0WBJEE 2027 Exam Pattern
WBJEE 2027 is conducted in two papers on the same day, entirely as MCQs marked on an OMR sheet using a black or blue ballpoint pen only.
Questions are divided into three categories with a distinct marking scheme:
- Category 1: 1 mark each, no negative marking
- Category 2: 2 marks each, 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer
- Category 3: 2 marks each, 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer (may include multiple-correct-answer questions)
Mathematics carries the single-highest weightage in the overall score, making Paper 1 particularly important for candidates targeting a strong rank.
6.0WBJEE 2027 Syllabus
The WBJEE syllabus closely follows the Class 11 and Class 12 curriculum of recognised state and central boards (WBCHSE/CBSE), with a strong emphasis on conceptual clarity and numerical problem-solving.
- Physics: Laws of Motion, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Heat & Thermodynamics, Physics of the Nucleus, Work-Energy-Power, Modern Physics (Atomic Models), Wave Motion, Simple Harmonic Motion, Magnetic Effects of Current & Magnetism, Solids & Semiconductor Devices, Centre of Mass, Impulse & Momentum, Rotational Motion
- Chemistry: s-block and p-block Elements, Transition Elements (d & f block), General Organic Chemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Chemical Thermodynamics, Chemical Bonding, Alcohols/Phenols/Ethers, Ionic Equilibrium, Redox Reactions, Chemical Equilibrium, Coordination Compounds, Electrochemistry

Candidates are advised to prepare using NCERT concepts alongside previous years' WBJEE question papers and mock tests.
7.0WBJEE 2027 Admit Card
The WBJEE 2027 admit card will be released by May, 2027, on the official website. Candidates downloaded it using their application number and password. The admit card carried details such as name, roll number, photograph, signature, exam date, time, and venue address, and was mandatory to carry (along with a valid photo ID) to the exam centre.
8.0WBJEE 2027 Answer Key and Result
Following the exam, WBJEEB released the provisional answer key, which candidates could challenge by paying ₹500 per question (non-refundable) through online payment modes. After evaluating all objections, the board published the final/frozen answer key, which cannot be further challenged. Based on this, WBJEEB declared the WBJEE 2027 result and rank card online, accessible via login credentials on wbjeeb.nic.in. No correction requests are entertained once the result is declared. For reference, WBJEE 2025 saw 1,01,643 candidates appear, of whom 1,00,502 qualified — indicating the broad scale of participation each year.
9.0WBJEE 2027 Counselling
Centralised counselling registration for candidates who qualified in WBJEE 2027 begin by June, 2027. The process is entirely online (e-counselling) and includes:
- Registration on the counselling portal using rank card details, email ID, and mobile number
- Choice filling — locking college and branch preferences in order of priority
- Seat allotment — merit-based automated allotment across multiple rounds (including upgradation and mop-up rounds), based on rank, category, choices, and seat availability
- Document verification — reporting to the allotted college with original documents
- Fee payment and admission — paying the acceptance fee to confirm the seat
Candidates seeking consideration under the Defence Quota must apply separately to the Rajya Sainik Board, Government of West Bengal, with an attested copy of the WBJEE 2027 admit card, in addition to securing a General Merit Rank in the exam.
